Library Cards, Borrowing & Items

How do I get a library card?

Do I need to live in Norwood?
No — we offer library cards to anyone in Colorado.
What do I need to bring?
An ID and proof of address. Full details: Library Card Requirements.
How many items can I check out?
Checkout limits depend on your account age. If you’re unsure, contact us and we’ll check your account quickly.
How long can I keep materials?
  • Books: 2 weeks (generally)
  • DVDs: 5 days
  • Skis: 3 days

Can I renew online?
Yes — you can renew online as long as the item isn’t on hold for another patron.
Can I place holds?
Yes. If you need help placing a hold, call or stop by — we’ll walk you through it.
Do you offer interlibrary loan?
Yes — we can request items through interlibrary loan. Contact us and we’ll help you get started.
Is the library fine-free?
Yes — we do not charge overdue fines for books.
What happens if I lose or damage an item?
Lost or damaged items must be paid for at replacement cost, or replaced with the same item in the same condition it was in before it was lost or damaged.

More Than Books (Digital & Library of Things)

Do you have more than books?
Yes — we have DVDs, and a growing “Library of Things” with borrowable items like gear and equipment. Explore what’s available here: Library of Things.
Do you offer eBooks or audiobooks?

Do you offer Kanopy?
Yes — Kanopy is available with a library card. Learn more here: Kanopy.
Need help setting up Libby or Kanopy?
We’re happy to help you get set up at the front desk — bring your device, or call ahead with questions.

Wi-Fi, Computers & Printing

Is Wi-Fi free?
Yes — free Wi-Fi is available daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and it can be reached from the parking lot.
Do you have public computers?
Yes — we have public computers available.
Do I need a library card to use a computer?
No — you do not need a library card to use the computer lab.
How much does printing cost?
  • Black & white: $0.25 per page
  • Double-sided black & white: $0.30
  • Color: $1.00 per page
  • Double-sided color: $1.50
Can I print from my phone?
Yes — ask at the front desk and we’ll help you print from your device.
Do you offer copying, scanning, or faxing?
Yes — copying and scanning are available. Faxing is $0.25 per page.

Rooms, Programs & Events

Can I reserve a meeting room?
Yes — use our reservation page for availability, rules, and scheduling: Reserve a Room.
Is there a fee?
Yes — fee details are listed on: Reserve a Room.
Can I reserve after hours?
Yes — after-hours reservations are allowed. You will receive access codes for your reserved room 48 hours in advance.
How do I sign up for programs?
Generally, programs are drop-ins welcome. Signing up is encouraged by visiting the event calendar.
Do you host private events?
Yes — we host private events such as baby showers, receptions, homecoming dances, meetings, and more. Please contact us for details and availability.

Policies, Safety & Conduct

What is your unattended child policy?
We handle situations on a case-by-case basis. However, any child under 8 cannot be unattended and must be with a parent, guardian, or responsible adult.
Are service animals allowed?
Yes — service animals are allowed. Emotional support animals are not considered service animals.
Can I bring food or drinks?
Food and drink are allowed only in designated areas as posted by library signage. Please note: no food or drinks in the PC lab.
Do you offer notary services?

Donations, Volunteers & Friends of the Library

Do you accept donations?
Yes — thank you! For donating books and materials, please review: Material Donations Procedure.

Do you accept volunteers (including community service hours)?
Yes — we welcome volunteers, and we can accept court-appointed community service hours. Please contact us to discuss availability and scheduling: Contact Us.
